The Orchard at BrixStone Farms™ is situated only three miles from the shores of Lake Michigan and is in a prime fruit-growing region. Terrain, weather and long growing days are key elements that lead to sustainable yields at BrixStone Farms. The rolling terrain on the west side of Michigan allows for optimal fruit production as the springtime frosts are mitigated by planting orchards on upper portions of hills above harmful frost zones. In addition, long growing days in this region allow orchard trees to set fruit well and fall brings cool evenings which helps to bring out vibrant color and sweeten the taste.
Current apple varieties grown on this farm are: Honeycrisp, Macintosh, Jonagold, Jonathon, Golden Delicious, Mutsu, Cortland, Ginger Gold, Ida Red, Paula Red, Red Delicious, Gala, Fuji and Spy. This orchard has been in fruit production for over 100 years and has proven to sustain families for generations. BrixStone Farms will continue to cultivate this bountiful land and share the exceptional quality of West Michigan fruit. Our Farmstand is open to the public during in-season!
